2016 Highlights

During the last few weeks of Term 4, R5 took some time to reflect on 2016. We realised what a great year we have all had and we all felt a little bit sad that our time together was coming to an end. As a class we created a presentation of our 2016 highlights.

Genius Hour Presentations #2

Aniva is really interested in the basket baller Michael Jordan. Check out what she found out during genius hour.

Lenaya was very keen to find out where books came from. She presented her information so well. She even wore a moustache to look like Johann Gutenberg.

End of Year Picnic

Yesterday our outdoors picnic was cancelled due to the unpredictable Auckland weather. Luckily we were able to meet in the quad, share some food and play some games.

R5's Mannequin Challenge Attempt

"Please can we do the mannequin challenge before the end of the year?" Room 5 pleaded on Friday. So here it is. R5's attempt at the mannequin challenge. I say attempt because they didn't quite achieve success but they had a lot of fun trying. There was far too much giggling but it was Friday afternoon! Check it out!

Term 4 Whole School Assembly

Y4 Talent Quest 2016

On Tuesday the Y4 Syndicate had their talent quest finals. Here are the highlights put together by Amatan, Siddhu and Salah. Congratulations to Seam and Bileeana who came first equal!

On Saturday the MRPS Ukulele Group performed at Vector Arena. It was a fantastic day and the group performed like professionals. A huge THANK YOU to Mrs Dawson for all of your hard work and dedication. What an awesome ukulele teacher you are! 

OMG Tech Rangers!

A group of Year 4 learners attended the @OMGTechRangers event on Saturday the 26th of November. They had an amazing day learning about the possibilities of science and technology. Check out what they got up to:

Music with Mrs Dawson

We are so lucky to have a specialist music teacher at MRPS named Mrs Dawson. She takes us for music lessons a couple of times a year. She has taught us so much about reading music. Check out what we did with her today!

Chocolate Crackle

On Tuesday we made chocolate crackles as part of our learning about procedural writing.

Maka has used Prezi to share his recipe.

Procedures Using Screencastify

We have been writing procedures outlining how to complete a chosen task on a chromebook. We used screencastify to record our procedures. 

Tuakana Kapahaka Assembly

On Friday the Tuakana Kapahaka Group entertained us with an assembly item all about Ranginui and Papatuanuku. Check out the highlights.

3D Printing

The Y4 Makerspace Group have been working extremely hard to get the 3D printers up and running for people to use.

Siddhu, Amatan and Salah couldn't wait to get started. They created a minion using Tinkercad and today they printed it!

The Y4 Uke Group Won K Factor 2016!

They did it! The MRPS Y4 Ukulele Group won Kmart's K Factor competition.
